Forget chocolate in my advent calendar, I’d rather have a book. Inspired by a tweet I sent this morning I’ve decided to do a book advent calendar. Each day I’ll reveal a book I’ve loved, either this year or at any time in my reading past. It may be a classic, a children’s book or the latest bestseller.
So to the first book to be revealed is the newly declared Waterstones book of the year:
The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton. A wonderful evocative read you can see my review here

What a lovely idea – look forward to checking back every day…

Thank you, I think the difficulty will be narrowing it down to 24 🙂

Brilliant idea and a way to “pay it forward” in a sense: thanking authors by promoting their books! (I’d easily have enough for more than the weeks of Advent!)
